You are dependable, popular, and observant.
Deep and thoughtful, you are prone to moodiness.
In fact, your emotions tend to influence everything you do.
You are unique, creative, and expressive.
You don't mind waving your freak flag every once and a while.
And lucky for you, most people find your weird ways charming!
While sometimes employing unorthodox approaches, you are capable of handling large scale undertakings.
You assume great responsibility and work long and hard toward completion.
Often, especially in the early part of life, there is rigidity or stubbornness, and a tendency to repress feelings.
Idealistic, you work for the greater good with a good deal of inner strength and charisma.
An extremely capable organizer, but likely to paint with broad strokes rather than detail.
You are very aware and intuitive.
You are subject to a good deal of nervous tension.

how to stay young
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay them. (how old am i again? hehehe.. 18?)2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down. (Keep this In mind if you are one of those grouches;)
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain get idle."An idle mind is the devil's workshop. " And the devil's name is Alzheimer's! (let's see.. .net, sql, javascript, recipes, books.. i think that's enough for this month.. haha!)
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. And if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots and Lots of time with HIM/HER.
(ako? ill be spending a lifetime with him.. *teary eyed*)6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with you your entire life, is yourself. LIVE while you are alive. (yup! life is too short.. carpe diem!)
7. Surround yourself with what you love whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge. (is the latter part on the bible.. cant really remember.. but it's true nonetheless *smiles*)
8. Cherish your health. If it is good, preserve it.I f it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help. (exercise, healthy food, lots of laughter, vitamins.. that should be a daily habit.. hehe.. ill keep that in mind.. always?)
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is. (take note, NOT where the guilt is! =p)
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity. (i love you guys! *muah*)

morning routine
we've been in singapore for almost a month now.. and we've kinda got a routine going on every weekday morning..my watch is set to alarm 3 times.. first at 6am.. just to wake me up lightly (pero tulog pa din ako kunwari).. then at 630am.. that's when i have to turn on the heater.. and finally at 7am.. when i have to drag myself out of bed to bathe.. brrrrr.. *cold*
after ko, it's my h2b's turn.. mahabang usapan kasi yun pag sya pinauuna kong maligo.. we'll just be late for work if i try to do that.. =p (di ba noh pangga?)
when im on my office clothes na, i prefer breakfast (haha! kala nyo kung ano noh? =p) which is basically cereals and milk.. sometimes with fruits on the side if we remembered to buy some on the weekends.. that's the kind of food we can eat with 10 minutes or less.. hehe..while eating we'll be watching 'teen titans' (the main character is robin, the young robin and his fellow heroes).. after this show, we usually leave for the office.. but then some days ago.. my pangga got addicted to watching 'the justice leagues' too..
which is the show after teen titans.. o di bah.. cartoon marathon kami.. =p so we leave around 8am.. just in time for the bus.. bus then mrt then another mrt then lastly shuttle.. phew! travel time is roughly an hour *pagod* when we get in the office, the first thing we do is fill up our water bottles with (syempre pa..) water.. supply for the whole morning.. to save us time from getting up and going to the pantry which is on the other side.. hehe.. *tamad* =p
next on the list?
coding, coding and more coding! =D

learning to let go
In the film Pay it forward , Helen Hunt's character searches for her mother among the homeless. Her mother, played by Angie Dickinson, is a hopeless alcoholic , tormented by the knowledge that she did nothing to protect her daughter form being molested as a young girl. When they finally connected, the mother asks, " what do you want ?" But her daughter hadn't come to berate her , Instead she said simply " I forgive you".Offering forgiveness is one of the most difficult task you could ever tackle, but it's essential to your spiritual and emotional health. Pardoning others can be powerful tool for transforming your relationship , if not your entire life.
Think about this......
Resentment is self-defeating. It hurts you more than it does the person has caused your bitterness. So why let hate consumes your strength?
No one is perfect. Obviously, you've needed forgiveness yourself. Everyone makes a mistake.Learning from it is the best recourse.
Life is not fair. Letting go of your pain is rarely accomplished in one sitting. You can forgive someone and really mean it but five minutes later crave for revenge since pain comes back under your deep seated self.
There is a reason for everything. So you are in pain, why ? Maybe its a cause from a previous action or from something you have done. God will not give you pain for no reason. It was meant to be given for you to learn...learn not to stumble on the wrong road next season.
The quickest way to forget hurt is to refocus on something better! God's purpose for your life is far greater than any problem or pain you face. Stop living like a victim. Life is too short for grudges, revenge and apathy.

postpartum depression
i just watched oprah.. brooke shields was her guest..they were talking about brooke's book, 'down came the rain'.. it was all about her struggle with postpartum depression..
i dont wanna sound ignorant and all but i wasnt really aware of that disease or sickness.. what is it? well google defines it as..
"Postpartum depression is a complex mix of physical, emotional, and behavioral changes that occur in a mother after giving birth. It is a serious condition, affecting 10% of new mothers. Symptoms range from mild to severe depression and may appear within days of delivery or gradually, perhaps up to a year later. Symptoms may last from a few weeks to a year."
"It affects about 10% of all new mothers. It can occur from two weeks to one year after the birth. A new mother may have feelings of anger, confusion, panic, and hopelessness. She may experience changes in her eating & sleeping patterns. She may fear she'll hurt her baby or she is going crazy . Some women feel worthless, cannot eat or sleep, they are sad, anxious and cry a lot. If you experience any of these symptoms call your doctor immediately."
i never thought that a mother could not want to be with her newborn.. that a mother can get visions of her child being thrown into a wall and sliding down.. and that even the smell of powder on a diaper would make her faint.. (i hope and pray that i would not experience the same thing *cross fingers* that would be one of the greatest struggles on my life.. *getting paranoid*)
it was truly a frightening experience.. and i applaud her for being brave on telling the world of her experience, of her feelings of misery and despair.. and hopefully she has helped other mothers or would be mothers.. =)

beware of dreamcore
it's been quite some time since i read the entries on the w@wies egroup.. i chance upon a post from wella regarding dreamcore..dreamcore is a photo/video supplier.. im in no place to judge for i've never worked with them nor seen their works.. but just reading the email of the wife (mind you.. the wife..) of the main photographer, who happens to be the owner, would give you a picture of how they do business.. how unprofessional, if i may say so.. tsk tsk..
if you've a business.. you should be all accomodating and friendly to your customers.. no matter how difficult it is to deal with them.. havent you heard of 'the customer is always right'.. tsk tsk..
here's a link to the post.. you'll be able to read it if you're a fellow w@wie.. =)
nyt! tulog na ko.. =D
liar, liar!
some people would go to a great extent to gain friends, have people pity them, and make themselves look all nice and noble.. i know of someone who even edited an email sent to him/her..
and guess what, he forwarded it , passed it on as the real message.. quoting a line from the song limbo rock (tama ba? hehehe =p), 'how loooooowww can you goooo' well i guess, he/she went the lowest you could possibly get.. it's sad isnt it? telling lies so that you could keep yourself close to people.. and if you think about it.. it's because of the fact, the reality that he/she is alone.. and he/she cannot afford to lose any of the people that he sooo deceived to be by his/her side..
sad.. truly sad..
language barrier
it's saturday and there's nothing to do.. hehe.. actually im reading a book by agatha christie.. my h2b's sister has a shelf of them.. =Dlast saturday though.. we had to wake up early to go to a certain clinic at Tampines.. we have to get our PE as per our job requirement.. it was an hour ride from where we are.. and yup! you guessed it right.. we got lost again.. haha! we always get lost.. in fact, it feels different if we dont.. =p my h2b calls it as an adventure.. which it is! (if we have the luxury of time =p)
15 minutes after getting on the bus.. 3 kids hopped in.. the eldest of the 3 talked to the driver and from how it looks she was kinda suprise of how much they would need to pay.. well, i really could not say if that was the case as they where speaking in mandarin (just a guess.. people here either speak mandarin or the malay language)..
then she went to her seat.. after a few minutes, she started to cry.. poor thing.. =( my h2b and i were so affected.. i dont know why.. maybe because we know how it is to be by ourselves..
we wanted to help badly.. the question is how.. pangga tried to speak to one of them.. but i guess, they were one of the few people who dont speak english.. =S
it was sooo frustrating! there she was crying and here we are wanting to help them, but cant! eventually they were able to put together the little money each of them has and pay..
an hour after.. we alighted at Tampines.. hoping that those 3 kids would get to where they needed to be..

harbie and alfredo

*sigh*
it's my friend's church wedding today.. i know it will turn out just the way she dreamt of it.. i just wish i could have been there to celebrate this day with them.. ='(
Church: Manila Cathedral
Reception: Manila Hotel
Guest of Honor: Joseph 'Erap' Estrada (hehehe.. *peace*.. kiddin aside though, he's really one of their godparents *scouts honor*)
i was suppose to be part of her entourage.. unfortunately (and fortunately, i guess..), i got this job offer from SG.. it's something i just cant pass off.. with that, i had to be replaced.. it was hard telling her that i cant make it.. partly because the gown was all fitted and done.. and mostly because i really wanted to be there.. =( waaaaah!
months before her wedding i would think of how we would all look, what we would do, who would catch the garter and the bouquet, the programme.. everything! i guess, i was excited for her.. hahaha! =D i've always pictured all of us in the 'kada' being there for each other's weddings.. *sigh*
but now, i would have to settle for the stories and pictures of the day that was.. i wish i could get a copy of the video (paging beng! paging beng!).. =)
to beng and alfredo..
congratulations and best wishes! i love you guys.. may God bless you with a long and happy marriage.. and with lots of kids too! =D *muah muah muah* *HUGS*

if thou must love me

a minority of the many
First posted 11:57pm (Mla time) Aug 07, 2005
By Manuel L. Quezon III
Inquirer News Service
Editor's Note: Published on page A15 of the August 8, 2005 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer
There was, indeed, something monumental about the man; no dainty dilettante or shrinking, Hamlet-like intellectual was he. He was possessed of a strong self-assurance that manifested itself in an unfortunate tendency to refer to himself in the third person: he would say, "Roco believes," instead of "I think." But then the same habit was apparent in leaders like Charles de Gaulle of France. Like De Gaulle, Roco was, by nature, a lone wolf; he inspired devotion-of the kind one normally identifies with mystics. He was above the throng, outside the herd: he would not pander if that was the price of leadership. He would lead only on his own terms, because, to his mind, those terms were both demanding and reasonable. Leadership required competence; it needed preparation; it demanded integrity.
For those who wanted leadership with intellectual depth, who desired to be led not on the basis of the least common denominator but on the chief's daring to raise the bar of public service, Roco was ideal. He was ideal because he was idealistic; he never asked of his followers less than he asked of himself-and he asked a lot of himself throughout his life. He came from the province, but was not provincial; he loved his provincial origins, but refused to be parochial; he was a politician, but there was always a kind of politics to which he could neither submit nor condone.
What was that kind of politics? The kind that was vague; the sort that promised everything, and so, could achieve little and more often than not, nothing. He was not about "win-win," he was about winning, so that the evils that deserved to lose-corruption, incompetence, mediocrity and mental and moral mendacity-would be defeated.
The problem with the lone wolf is that other wolves do not trust him, and the sheep fear him because, while being one of a kind, different from other wolves, he remains identified with the rest of the wolves.
Raul Roco's greatest failure as a politician was that he was always unable-perhaps unwilling-to join the pack, much less lead it. As a leader, he would lead, alone, yet the other wolves howled he still was a wolf, though in sheep's clothing. What could he do? Snarl that the voters are not sheep, but conditioned to being sheep; and they viewed him with a sheep's fear of the wolf. And so the people chose to be like sheep, and put their faith in the other wolves.
There have been other lone wolves in our political past. There was Juan Sumulong before the war, Claro M. Recto and Raul S. Manglapus before martial law, even Jovito Salonga. They all rose far, but only so far-and not far enough. Each had the capacity to inspire devotion and loyalty; each tried to buck the trend; all failed to achieve the highest office within the gift of their people. Each one was conscientious, admired for a fine and brave conscience, supported by a dedicated and idealistic minority. Democracy, however, is not about the nobility of the minority but the success of the majority.
The "advantage" of a politician unencumbered by scruples, intellect, or a stubborn insistence on integrity (or self-worth) is his ability to generate a kind of joy that is infectious. It is the kind of joy felt by the audience in a basketball game where the finer points of the game are set aside in order to gain points and achieve victory. We are, after all, a country whose basketball heroes include Robert Jaworski, who is not, by any means, the exemplar of gentlemanly conduct on the court. Roco was the kind of political player we could all admire, but who remained so unique, so different-in the end, so strange-that he could not achieve the transformation from being a personality attractive to a minority into some kind of leader desirable to the majority.
Was his, then, a life turned into political tragedy? A well-intentioned footnote to history? To his followers and, perhaps even to himself, his political career was tragic: he was twice rejected in his bid for the presidency, the last time, under circumstances made worse by the illness that claimed his life. However, it was not cancer that defeated Roco's bid for the presidency in 2004, it was fear, the same fear that defeated him in 1998. It was the fear of the people, of an electorate who behaved more like terrorized sheep, so different from the kind of voters Roco saw if only they were were given the chance to prove themselves.
He was that chance; but not enough took a chance on him.
Today with his passing, everybody is praising him-even the wolves, and most poignantly of all, the sheep. His greatest achievement doesn't lie in the praises being heaped on him with his passing, but in the hearts of the few who followed him, even to the point of defeat. For unlike the rest of us, they can say: a vote for him is a vote we will never have cause to regret. No finer words can a follower say of a leader; no nobler feeling can a candidate hope to find in the hearts of his countrymen.
Roco was true to himself; and he caused others to be true to themselves. In so doing, he forged a bond that only true leaders can build. And thus, he created and led a minority of many-and many there will be to continue his fight.

Jurong and Yishun (what? =p i was watching the celebration on the television, that's why i know.. fine watching intently.. hahaha! i was curious, what can i say!)grabe! it can be seen how organized and disciplined the people are.. well, at least for the short time i've been here.. hehehe.. i dont want to go on praising them and all at this point.. hahaha! i could be wrong you know.. world's largest fountain
i work on the Millenia tower.. it is near the Suntec building.. we sometimes have lunch there or at the Marina tower..at the Suntec City (well, that's how the sites call it.. check out the photo below =p), you'll see the world's largest fountain =D kewl huh?

(The Millenia Tower and the Marina Square)

(The Suntec City - the smaller photo is the close up shot of the fountain. It is the yellow ring on the Suntec City)
SG and it's flag
it has been a week now since we got here in SG.. i really havent seen the greater part of the country that is being promoted on different websites.. well, that's partly, actually not partly, but mostly.. haha! mostly because of work.. we work at least 9 hours a day (excluding lunch =S).. we get home around 8pm.. there's really not much time to go around during the weekday..ngayong weekend sana.. but we plan to catch up on sleep and my pangga has to prepare for his first day of work.. =)
by the way, it's a holiday on the 9th.. it's Singapore's birthday!
when you take a look out the window, you'll see
all of the houses hanging this flag.. the red and white, with a moon and five stars (jane_lo! moon and stars o!) well, the red on the flag represents brotherhood and equality, white for purity and virtue.. the crescent moon originally served as a symbol of assurance for the Malays when the flag was designed - that SG is not a chinese country.. now they say that it's a symbol of a young rising nation.. (if you are here, you'll agree!) the five stars stand for SG's ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.. hehehe.. just sharing a bit of what i've read.. since we're here now.. might as well know something about it right? =p

lost in SG..
As you might have noticed, most of my blogs nowadays is connected to my being here in SG.. well, what can i say.. im new to the place.. too new.. =Syesterday, it took us almost 2 hours going to the office.. why? yep! we got lost!!! i was so frustrated that i cried.. ='( im just so lucky to have my pangga by my side.. always comforting me and assuring me that we'll get there eventually.. he's ever so patient with me.. and always looking at the glass half full.. i wish that kind of attitude would rub off..
when we finally arrived in the office building, he told me.. "at least we had an adventure di ba and we got to spend more time together".. *touched* san ka pa! =D
fortunately, we've been able to map out our daily routine (syempre, c/o my pangga pa din yun.. hehehe.. eat your heart out!), and we got to the office just in time.. actually with a few more minutes to spare for coffee.. =D

my first day of work in SG
so how did my first day of work go? it was ok.. there's nothing much to tell really.. i mostly read the project documents and i think i'll be doing that for another day or two..let's talk about the people.. richard aka ricky (mwehehe.. that's how they call him here since he has the same name as his boss) introduced me to all the people in our department (if that is how they call it).. they are pretty friendly.. mixture of different races.. most of them have firm handshakes.. (which i think, if i remember it right, means that they have a strong personality)
the girl right behind me is Agnes.. she has the cutest and friendliest smile.. her eyes disappear whenever she flashes her teeth =) she reminds me the dos and donts in the office (para di daw ako masabon.. nice di ba?)
there are a lot of people there that also came from my former company (pwede na nga kaming magtayo ng sarili naming kompanya sa dami namin e.. hehehe)..
if the people ill be working with will be as friendly as Agnes.. i dont think it's gonna be hard starting over again.. =)
nytnyt! early to work tomorrow! *muah*
our 'precious'
my h2b never liked the rings with lots of stones.. and after checking out a couple of rings.. now, i dont too.. it's just not that appealing and practical.. especially when you realize it's for everyday wear.. our jeweller told us that she has lost the stones on her wedding ring several times.. and she needed to have it fixed.. and with that comes the purchase of another precious stone.. it can get pretty expensive huh?so here's our 'precious' =) simple yet elegant (o wlang kokontra! =p)
