SG and it's flag
it has been a week now since we got here in SG.. i really havent seen the greater part of the country that is being promoted on different websites.. well, that's partly, actually not partly, but mostly.. haha! mostly because of work.. we work at least 9 hours a day (excluding lunch =S).. we get home around 8pm.. there's really not much time to go around during the weekday..ngayong weekend sana.. but we plan to catch up on sleep and my pangga has to prepare for his first day of work.. =)
by the way, it's a holiday on the 9th.. it's Singapore's birthday!
when you take a look out the window, you'll see
all of the houses hanging this flag.. the red and white, with a moon and five stars (jane_lo! moon and stars o!) well, the red on the flag represents brotherhood and equality, white for purity and virtue.. the crescent moon originally served as a symbol of assurance for the Malays when the flag was designed - that SG is not a chinese country.. now they say that it's a symbol of a young rising nation.. (if you are here, you'll agree!) the five stars stand for SG's ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.. hehehe.. just sharing a bit of what i've read.. since we're here now.. might as well know something about it right? =p
