thanks for sharing your thoughts regarding our wedding dilemma.. and im happy to say that we've decided to push through with our garden wedding! =D like you said, we can still save for whatever travel/house we want later.. thanks thanks ulit! *muah muah muah***my body's still aching from that 11km hike.. but it feels great to have accomplished something like that.. hehehe =p it's something that we would definitely do again.. it surely beats running in a treadmill =D
mac ritchie 11km hike
dec 26.
we got at mac ritchie by 53opm.. it's a huge nature park.. =D we met up with je and john by the lagoon where we saw je and john.. on the other side.. =S but it was ok since we were there to go hiking..
we stopped by the zigzag bridge over the lagoon on the way to je and john.. one guy was feeding the turtles and fishes that we got a good shot of them on the surface of the water.. kewl!
and we're off to our 11km hike!
sobrang ganda nung place! it was like being in a rainforest =) various kinds of trees, flowers, shrubs etc.. we even chance upon a turtle that was on the hike trail (probably looking for the nearest body of water) and a group of monkeys.. i was a bit scared of them going crazy.. baka habulin kami.. hahaha!

first christmas in SG
dec 23.
we met up with je and john at orchard to attend the christmas service.. it was fun.. there was a short play and lots of singing before the service began.. the pastor was great! (no wonder, most of the people ive talked with said he's their favorite pastor)

after spending most of the day in the office (we'll my pangga had to work.. but i went with friends at suntec to buy our gifts for the secret santa at night), we went home and slept for a couple of hours..
we got ready to go by 8pm to the christmas party organized by some members of the church..
since we were late, by the time we got there, they were already playing games.. it was fun watching them while we were eating our dinner.. good thing we were eating.. hehehe.. we were not 'forced' to join it.. =p
after the games.. a few minutes break.. and syempre.. picture taking!

after the party, the four of us (je, john, oneal and i) went to grab some beer at this place where they serve different kinds of beer.. there were a lot of choices which i dont of.. so by default, i got the light beer.. my pangga got the kind which was pretty close to guinness..
then we called it a night =)
dec 25.
not so much fuss on christmas day as we have celebrated it the night before.. we just stayed home the whole day.. watching movies and cartoons..
we had some food on the fridge.. enough for me to cook our brunch and dinner.. so we really didnt step a foot out of
our place.. =)

wedding *sigh*
my pangga and i had one of our usual talks when we would reflect on our lives.. how we are.. what we're looking
forward to.. what's in store for us..
then it got me thinking about our wedding next year.. should we still have it or have just a small gathering with
family.. *thinking hard*
i have always dreamt of the kind of wedding we're currently planning.. but then again.. we could use the money for
something else.. like buy a house back home or go backpacking in europe or get into financial investments..
im really having second thoughts.. *sigh*
if we cancel now, we'd lose some money on the downpayments we've made.. but we'd still have money.. the expense
would be much less than if we were to have the wedding.. not that we've not been saving for the wedding, cause we
have and still are..
i still have to think this over.. i just wanted to share what's going on in my mind right now.. *sigh ulit*

it was almost the perfect end to this work week as we were allowed to leave work 3 hours earlier.. almost.. =(
we went to funan (one whole mall that sells all kinds of gadgets.. from laptops to entertainment systems.. *drooling*) right after work to check out some ipod portable speakers.. and some leather casing..
after a bit of shopping, we ate at swensen's.. then headed to church..
a couple of minutes later, this guy from work sent an SMS to my pangga saying that there are some errors with a certain application and that my pangga needed to go to work tomorrow.. talk about being insensitive! uh duh.. it's the day before christmas!!! what the fudge?!?!

friday. christmas party at k-box. pretty much like IO in makati.. with videoke and billiards..
the party started at 8pm. we all went to the foodcourt at 7pm to grab something that'll keep us up til midnight.
after a few songs initiated by our big boss, =) we started our exchange gift.. the 'steal' game!
i thought it was gonna be boring as people would rather open a new gift than steal another's gift.. but nooooo.. they'd rather take MY gift.. hahahaha! bitter! =p
we'll i didnt get the gift that i wanted since everyone was passing it around.. i was after the family game.. 6 games in a box.. =D
most of the gifts were being passed around.. not even staying for a couple of seconds in the current holder's hands.. one second it's yours, the next it's been stolen and you have to pick a different gift..
my pangga and i were helping each other get the gifts that we wanted.. if we cant, we'll get something that someone else's want and kinda use it as a bribe for them to get what we wanted.. =D
the steal game lasted for 2 hours (as there were 30++ of us in the room) and by the end of it everyone was exhausted but happy nonetheless..
we got some james bond dvds and a pictionary =)
the most stolen gift for the night was the mini cooler/warmer (the mini fridge as they called it) and the owner got an ipod shuffle for a prize.. with coming up with the gift that everyone wanted..
saturday. christmas party at one balmoral..
the pinoys in the office organized their own christmas party at a condo where one of us lives..
potluck! each of us had to bring something that can feed 8-10 people..
after dinner, we also played steal.. but this time, it was only for a couple of minutes because there were only 13 of us exchanging gifts.. the others didnt bring any.. but it's ok.. =)

we celebrated our day with a dinner at outback steakhouse.. =D bloomin' onion for starters.. and for our main course.. an outback sirloin and grilled salmon.. mamam!
during dinner.. syempre.. reminiscing.. =)
we realized that we havent celebrated our anniversary in the philippines yet..
1st year.. in chicago.. cheesecake factory! we tried ordering some cocktails with very minimal alcohol.. but they wouldnt give me one.. unfortunately, i forgot my ID that day.. =(
anyway, we still had a blast!
2nd year.. in LA.. no work.. no money.. fine! unemployed.. hahahah! but we were still able to make the day as special as it should be..
my pangga made dinner in our apartment.. home-made steak and veggies.. a $10 bottle of champagne.. and our favorite love songs playing in the background specially chosen and organized by my pangga.. after dinner.. we danced.. and danced.. *sigh* makalaglag p***y!

a gallon of water
level 2 is definitely harder than level 1 (and that's why it's called level 2)..we were learning to do the freestyle.. my goodness! i just couldnt make myself float high enough to breath for a second.. whenever i try.. i end up getting water in my nose and mouth.. (and now my nasal passage is squeaky clean..)there was a time that i lost my breathing and hand coordination that i ended up breathing in the water with my mouth.. yummy! a gallon of salty water! ='( waaaaaah! im still a little whoozy.. too much water on my head perhaps.. i can feel my brain doing a backstroke.. binut! pakner! ='(
exchange gift game
we'll be having a christmas party this coming friday and saturday.. my pangga and i needs to come up with a game for the exchange gift on saturday..
i remember back in our school days.. we use to number the gifts then, during the exchange gift part of the programme we pick a number from a bowl, and the gift with that number is our gift.. *dont wanna do this*
on friday, we'll be doing the 'white elephant' or the 'steal' approach.. the first person gets to choose a gift and open it.. the second person can open a new gift or steal the gift that was opened by person 1.. once a gift has been stolen from, you can no longer steal it.. this goes on until the last person gets a gift..
the person who owns that gift that was stolen the most, gets a prize from our big boss.. =D last year the prize was an mp3 player! *dont wanna do this as well*

the merlion
just wanna share our blurry picture by the merlion under the rain last week.. this, most probably was the reason why i got sick.. hehehe.. kulit ko kasi e.. =p still wanted to go there even if it was raining elephants and hippos.. hahaha! just to let you know how stroooong the rain and the wind was..

i felt better this morning.. well, i could stand up without the world turning.. =p so i decided to go to work..
nothing out of the ordinary.. i must say that God knows i still needed rest because my computer was having problems again.. which means no work for a couple of hours while they figure out what's wrong with it.. =D
for the highlight of the afternoon.........
after lunch my pangga and i passed by the garfield sale.. and what do you know.. garfield and odie was walking around the area! having pictures taken with the kids =)
and being the kid that i am.. =p i pulled my pangga towards the crowd..
feeling like im the only adult who wanted to take a picture with them, i hesitated.. but then.. garfield waved at me.. *jane looked left and right* hehe.. me? i wouldnt say no to that! =p so i got my picture with garfield and odie.. the mascots were so huge that you could hardly see me in the picture..
odie looked so cuddly and cute with a santa hat hanging on one of his ears.. oh yeah.. i heard him say 'smile!' in a high pitched voice.. which made me think for a second as to the gender of the person inside the costume..
after i got my picture taken.. all the other adults who were watching finally got the courage to show their kid inside.. =D

out sick
i've been sick for two days now, down with a flu.. and it s*cks coz im home alone..
but this flu cant stop me from doing anything.. =p
was able to set an appointment with our photographer for our prenup pictorials and two HMU trials.. one with angie
cruz and one with julie baun.. i have seen their works only on the pictures sent by my fellow w@wies.. so far i've
liked both..
they do have a reasonable price for the package of 3.. only 6k.. not bad eh.. =) i do hope it's one of them.. but im
still planning to get a separate HMU for our entorage.. could i find one for 500 a person? im really not sure but
im still looking.. i've ask tenten to help me look for one.. thanks ten!
i also sent emails to several florists asking for their quotation.. but i havent got any replies yet.. any
suggestions gurls?
and lastly, i was able to set an appointment with our caterer so that we can finalize the details (food, cake, set
up, emcee, car etc) and schedule our last food tasting.. =)
and now back to my bed.. *dizzy*
rent review
not bad, not bad.. it was, as we said yesterday.. so-so..
i was suppose to post my review of the play last night.. but i was too tired.. hehe.. aside from the fact that i really cant recall much about it.. only that we spent $264 for our tickets.. =p
so here's what i do remember..
- first, the theater was not that close from the mrt station as we thought.. good thing that we alloted a good 45 minutes for our travel..
- the play was entitled 'RENT' because the artists in the play living in new york couldnt pay their rent.. it has a simple plot.. the lives of the artists entangled with homosexuality and drugs.. to sum up the story: it was about struggling young artists in new york who supported each other as they face the harsh realities of the world, poverty, crime, drugs and AIDS.. there were 3 love stories.. (1) that of mimi, a drug-junkie/S&M performer, and roger, an HIV positive, struggling guitar player (2) angel, a she-male, and i forgot his name (gays), (3) maureen and joanne (lesbians)..
- there were a lot of kissing from the gay and lesbian lovers.. real kissing and not just smacks.. my panga cringed with every kiss.. hahaha! i've seen more vulgar kissings in LA.. so it wasnt new to me..
- when the play started.. actually, we didnt really know that it had started since the whole theater was still lit and there was no opening of curtains and all.. there was singing here and there.. and yet i could not really follow what was happening at that point.. after 3 minutes into the show.. the stage manager came out on the farther left side of the stage and informed everyone that they were having some technical difficulties.. especially with the lights..
ahhh.. so that's why.. and she said they would start from the beginning.. and when they did start for the second time, the lead actor, mark (the wanna-be documentary film maker), said.. 'should we start from the smile?'.. 'ok, we'll start from the smile'.. and they started singing =S hey, that wasnt how you started a few minutes ago.. o well..
- i was surprised that karen mok could sing.. and well.. no accent whatsoever.. but she does have a certain mannerism on stage that is difficult to describe.. or maybe it was in her character or maybe she was a bit conscious.. but she was doing it all throughout the play.. kinda distracting at times.. but she does have great legs! she had this dance routine on the balcony which i think was very hard to do.. singing and dancing.. basically on steel that i think was only as thick as my arm..
- our seat was great! not too close as we expected.. yeah, we could see the actors' spit from where we were seated (and a lot of it.. hehe).. but there was a good 3-4 meters gap from the stage to the first row seats.. and we were on the third row.. =p
- i love the character maureen.. the girl had a 15 minutes solo.. she did a monologue as a protest for what's being done or rather not being done to help people like her.. she was hilarious! maybe the only part of the play where everyone was laughing (and awake).. by the way she played a lesbian character here.. and in one of the song, she showed her butt..
- no new song stuck in my head after the play was done.. just the 'seasons of love', which i already know by heart.. and this means a lot to my pangga and i.. coz usually, after a movie or play we would be humming a new song together..
all in all, the play was ok.. uhmmm.. fine! it was a let down as a whole.. the set was uninspiring, it was the same from beginning to end.. the casts did lack the energy during their performance.. maybe because that's their last day of performance in SG.. who knows, i could only speculate.. but still, they could have done better..
i hear the movie is worse.. =p
level 2
i finished my tasks right after lunch and because i am such a good employee.. hahaha! i told my team lead that im done.. he said he'd call me in a few.. so i decided to write my rent review.. and a few minutes into it.. my computer went loco.. i lost my network connection plus i cant see even my local files.. =S so i guess ill be sharing it tomorrow.. i spent 4 1.2 doing nothing.. very productive indeed.. (not) and according my pangga, my computer's still not fixed.. they continue their diagnostics tomorrow.. =(anyway.. i just wanted to say that.. ill be officially starting level 2 tomorrow! woohoo! *takes a bow* we just had our last level 1 swimming lesson today.. among our class, only my officemate, loi, and i advanced.. ;-) so we are pretty confident.. but we're pretty sure that level 2 will not be a walk in the park.. =) masaya pa din kami! =D
mustafah and chinatown
8am. gotta wake up coz we have along day ahead of us.. by 10am we were at bras basah.. right on schedule =)
we decided to power up first at mcdonalds.. we each got the hotcake and sausage meal (3 hotcakes, 1 sausage, 1 hasbrown and a cup of coffee).. then off to the popular store.. it's their national bookstore here.. if i am not mistaken, this is biggest branch.. it was a warehouse of supplies..it was heaven for us looking for DIY stuffs for the wedding..
by 12noon we were at starbucks waiting for loi and her son.. she'll be taking us to mustafah.. it's a big mall near little india where you could buy anything from cookies to gadgets at discounted prices.. =D
we were able to buy our gifts for our principal sponsors.. they're these cute, one of kind chinese tissue holder.. ill post the pictures later.. =D at first we didnt know what they were because it just said decorative item on the tag.. =p
then off we go to chinatown for lunch and some more shopping!
my pangga was able to find his gifts for the male members of our entourage.. another item to check off in our list of to dos.. i was having so much fun! =D
but then, after just 4 stores, my pangga said that we should leave already.. =( *bummer*
i hated to go in the middle of our shopping spree.. but we were gonna go swim at 5pm.. *sigh* this was the first time i didnt feel like swimming.. hehehe..
we swam until 7 pm then headed home.. our muscles were sore from walking and swimming, that my pangga and i decided to take a cab home.. we usually take the bus coz it's a lot cheaper.. =p
so there you go.. one tiring weekend.. tomorrow.. RENT! =D woohoo!
fire drill and dinner
i was sitting at my desk trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with my program (that seems to be working well
until my team lead played with it) when mel told me that we have at least 15 minutes to go down.. down where and for
what? then i remembered that today, friday, is the day of the fire drill.. but still why do we need to go down when
i haven't heard the alarm yet? =S
a lot of people were walking restlessly on the corridors.. wondering what the fuss what about, i decided to checked
it out.. it appears that the big boss was already heading for lift with a couple of other big bosses.. and some of
our officemates where heading their way too.. =S
isnt it that the point of a fire drill is to know what to do in case of real fire? then why are they leaving the
building already?
but then, since most of the people are leaving.. what the heck.. let's leave as well! hahaha!
after 1 1/2 hour, work was resumed and i still dont know where the stairs for the fire exits are..

it's almost 7pm and we're still in the office.. we should be heading to the hotel by now.. *sigh*
our big boss was so happy with the effort we put into our last department offsite (sort of a yearly department event
where we get to make a fool out of ourselves and of others.. *lol* and show our 'hidden talents') that he decided to
treat not only the winner of the play but the whole department to a dinner at ritz carlton!
one of the managers told us that it was a 6 star hotel.. that explains the various cuisines on the buffet room..
yep! room.. not just table.. yummy!
too bad i dont eat raw food.. there were different kinds of maki, sushi and other japanese food.. they said i should
try one sometime.. uhmmm.. no. =p
the highlight on the buffet were the seafood.. the prawns and lobsters! *drooling* our big boss ate two huge plates
of each.. in his defense.. he said he can eat that much because he has low cholesterol.. i got dizzy just by looking
at what he ate.. phew!
our big boss sat in our table (with mostly filipinos).. just like the last time he treated us for dinner at the turf
club.. i guess he loves our group.. we're the most cheerful group in the room.. always laughing and smiling.. never
running out of stories and enthusiam.. =)
next stop.. dessert! there was this whole table of sweets.. different kinds of chocolate.. and the best thing about
it is.. their free!!! =D
i think i got carried away getting a piece of each coz my pangga was teasing me when i got back to our table.. he
said i had my own desset table.. =p
as per our boss' recommendation, we all ordered souffle.. sounds fancy huh.. according to google.. a souffle is..
a feather light baked dessert made mostly of eggs or egg whites alone. Dessert soufflés have a base of pastry cream
or fruit puree, with softly whipped egg whites folded in, then baked in ramekin molds until the egg whites expand. They should be eaten immediately as they deflate as they cool.
they are good! but nothing fancy as its name.. well not for me at least.. dinner ended with a cup of tea and a whole
lot of stories about whatever we can think of.. o yeah.. we also talked about plays.. and our boss said the 'phantom
of the opera' is the most outrageous play ever.. and according to him.. it was even better than 'saigon'.. ive yet
to find that out for myself when i get a chance to go to london in the next couple of decades or so..

now it's time to burn the thousands of calories we gained during dinner!
we decided to walk on our way to the merlion.. we passed by the esplanade which was magnificent at night.. we shot a
couple of pictures on the way..
we were almost there when there came a downpour.. so we had to run towards the nearest shelter.. under the bridge..
to my surprise, there was a bar under the bridge and most of all, it was clean! =) we had no choice but to pass time
there.. taking as much (MUCH) pictures as we can even if was just us over and over..
the rain stopped for a minute or so.. well, it was still drizzling.. i grabbed our cameraman.. (hehe.. the husband
of one of our officemates..) and had him take our (my pangga and i) picture by the merlion.. ive been wanting to do
that since we came here.. and i am not gonna let a stubborn rain ruin that chance.. =p after two blurry shots, the
rain fell harder that we needed to take refuge in the bar again.. *sigh* o well at least we got our shot.. maybe a
better one next time.. =)
by the time the rain stopped, we were all tired and sleepy that we decided to head home..

--- i am not meticulous when it comes with brands.. with my physique.. hirap e.. basta it fits well and matibay.. ayt!

--- sa pinas.. specifically somewhere in tagaytay.. or somewhere in the province.. yung relax ang environment =)

--- yung 18th ko.. i celebrated my coming of age with all my friends in our not so finished house then.. i cant have it in a hotel or anywhere fancy because of personal reasons.. but still they went in our house with roses and candles to celebrate with me.. *sniff* i have my reasons for keeping it in my heart.. those were the days.. next question!
