Q&A nightmare

a friend of mine sent me a forwarded message about a filipina who won the ms. world competition after such a terrible display of intellect during the question and answer portion..

it was actually suppose to be funny.. but somehow it got me thinking..

if speaking english was the main reason why the contestant cant come up with a decent answer.. why didnt the pageant organizers encouraged them to speak filipino in the first place.. not that i know if they really didnt encourage them.. but come on.. they could even have the judges ask their questions in both english and tagalog so as not to intimidate the contestant..

dont they know that even contestants from other countries have their own interpreters during the Q&A so that they may truly articulate their heartfelt answers.. and not grasp for whatever little english words they know..

but anyway, my point is, even if the girl won (yes, she won apparently) at the local pageant, she doesnt stand a chance on the next level.. just my two cents =p

i havent really watched any of the pageants back home since, uhmmm, i dont know.. how's are they?

name that tune

i was singing along with the opm tracks i have when i remembered one particular song out of the blue..

and like most people (i think).. i have to know the full lyrics of the song.. i typed a phrase at the ever realible google.com..
*type type* what?! no result! that's a first.. =/

i was racking my brain for the name of the singer.. but i just cant seem to remember.. maybe i never even knew who he was..

the song was definitely written during the 80s.. my earliest memory of the song was when i was still in elementary.. probably in 5th grade..

this is as much as i can recall.. wanna help? hehe.. im just really itching to know..

it's soooo frustrating.. you know the feeling when you're trying to guess the title of a particular song while somebody around you is singing to a different tune that you wanna wring his neck.. that kind of frustration.. hahaha!
