singapore turf club
we just got back from the singapore turf club.. yep yun din naisip ko nung una e.. what's that di ba? hehe..it's a racecourse.. just like our very own san lazaro (the one near beng's house which was recently demolished to give way to SM..) just bigger.. come to think of it.. way way bigger.. sabi nga namin when we got there, lawit na dila nung kabayo mo bago pa makarating sa finish line.. =D hehehe..
oo nga naman.. i forgot to tell you why we're there.. it's our teambuilding.. o di ba.. kakaiba.. we've always wanted something different.. now, this is truly different =)
we left the office around 530pm and arrived at the turf by 630pm.. layo noh..
the ride was not that bad cause everyone on the bus has their own story to share.. we hardly noticed that an hour had already passed.. especially when the bus clock was set to 850(am/pm?) all throughout..
we occupied one of the nicest room on the place.. =D kewl! it was the lotus room on the ground level.. it was adjacent to the winning post.. with floor to ceiling glass-paneled walls..
it offered us the opportunity to witness the victorious moments of the winning horses.. dinig pa namin lahat ng hiyawan =D
it was fully air-conditioned.. pero pwede kaming lumabas if we wanted to go nearer.. =D kewl! the room was equipped with betting booths and closed circuit monitors.. it can hold up to 150 persons..
may dress code pa pla kami.. buti na lang smart casual lang.. =)
dinner was served at aroung 730pm.. mamam! overflowing na naman.. pero syempre i have to watch what i eat.. no rice na lang muna for now.. i have to taste all the kinds of food that was served.. libre e! =p yummy! and the desserts.. mmmm.. mmmm.. various cakes and mixed fruits.. =D
while eating dinner.. people started betting na.. i was hesitant to place a bet.. first of all, i know nothing about horse races.. and second.. sayang yung pera.. hehehe.. =p
pero in the end, we cant help but join in the fun.. and all the excitement.. everyone was cheering for their own horses..
we lost $15.. but it's ok.. coz now i know the basics of horse race betting.. sayang.. sana nandun si tito norbie.. para naturuan ako ng tamang strategy.. (marunong si tito di ba bengers? =D)

all in all, it was a great experience.. unique.. something that i wouldnt normally do (pag libre lang!) =D

yep, you read it right.. there's no typo in my title..
it all started a long long time ago.. hahaha! kanina umaga po.. =p we woke up real early, 5am to be exact, to fix something up in the office before going to our training.. training starts at 930am..
we were able to arrive at the microsoft building just in time.. ready for a new day of training =D
tick tock tick tock..
11am.. we're still setting up our workstations.. it seems that they weren't prepared.. =S in short.. learned nothing..
12noon.. lunch time! =D
pero to be fair.. hehe.. the place was nice.. furnitures, set up and all.. they have this great view of the bay.. and a full pantry! hahaha =p
they have this huge fridge full of various cold drinks..
and.. being the good girl that i am.. being on a diet (hehehe).. yung cold jasmine green tea yung iniinom ko the whole day.. =p
class began again at 130.. the 'professor' decided to just give the lecture.. then bukas na daw yung hands on.. and since this training is 10% talk and 90% hands on.. we were already done by 330 =S
really learned nothing.. why? because the way the trainer speaks is really distracting.. he says and i quote..
in the new version of .nets [hellooooo .net lang po noh.. sumbong kita sa microsoft e..]
with this approach you cant do (asking the participants) whats? whats?

as much as i wanted to take a break from work through this training.. watchatink? hindi na lang.. so it's back to the office for me tomorrow.. =)
east cost seafood center
it was my sister in law's birthday (hehehe =p).. we ate out..
we went to the east coast seafood center.. specifically at the jumbo seafood place.. (we also, finally, saw her boyfriend.. boyfriend na nga ba pangga? =D).. there are other restaurants by the coast.. they all look somewhat identical.. they have these covered patios that extend to a part that's uncovered.. our reserved table was initially inside.. but my ate wanted to stay outside.. it was kinda warm inside.. buti na lang they were nice enough to find us a table outside.. we only waited for a few minutes.. =)
dinner started off with yang chow fried rice and beef with brocolli.. (i was the only one NOT using chopsticks.. =( hirap e.. i wanna enjoy the food =p) then came the shrimp.. kala ni ate she ordered the dry one.. pero yung naorder pla niya is yung parang sinigang na hipon.. which is ok na di na kami kumuha ng soup.. =) next is the big tasty barbecued fish with chili for dip.. (which i found out later was 26 dollars..) and last but definitely not the least.. the CHILI CRAB!!! one of our officemates has been telling us how great chili crabs are.. and last night we finally got to taste it! 
prepare to get messy! mmmm.. mmmm.. lot's of finger lickin (literally) it was the biggest crab ever! cooked in a sweet and spicy, thick sauce.. yummy! crab meat! (naisip ko tuloy si netnet.. allergic yan pero kain pa din ng kain.. =p) daming laman nung crab with the claws extremely plentiful.. ako na nga yung sumuko e.. hehehe.. there were also these small square buns that goes with the crab.. you soak the buns on the sauce.. yummy! it's crispy on the outside (and chewy on the inside? nah.. =p) and light and fluffy on the inside =D
haaaay.. sarap! =D time to go home.. na-ah =p what about dessert? sabi ni ate kung gust daw namin.. syempre oo naman ako.. hahaha! (and i wonder why i gain weight.. tsk tsk tsk..)
she ordered honeydew with sago.. it was like halohalo.. with honeydew and sago (syempre.. hehehe.) with watermelon din.. in chilled honeydew juice and coconut milk.. *drooling* =p
and THAT was dinner.. =D
2 inches
i found a measuring tape this morning and for some reason decided to check on my waistline.. i gained 2 inches on my waist!!! ='(
you thought i would have lost weight due to all this late night work.. but nooooooooo.. i had to gain 2 inches of fat.. it's so depressing.. waaaaaaaaaaah!!! pano na yung gown ko.. when tet got my measurements last august, 24 lang ako.. ngayon 26 na.. ='(
hmmm.. wag na kaya akong kumain.. hahah! di ko yata kaya =S bawas ng chocolates? hmmm.. pede.. subway diet kaya? atkins? south beach? when should i start? cge isipin ko mamya.. =p

we went home around 1130pm yesterday.. buti na lang we took a cab.. kaya the travel was only 30 minutes..
i was sooooooooo sleepy.. i could hardly drag myself to brush my teeth.. grabe!
today.. actually tonight.. i think we'll be going home around the same time..
i really dont have to stay late pero may deployment kasi sila pangga.. he stays, i stay =) everything's kewl naman.. kasi magkasama kami.. and if ever i'll go ahead and go home.. i don't think i'll be able to sleep din.. (who would di ba? lalo na paghinihintay mo mister mo.. =p)
im taking this time to finish up my application.. para may matapos din ako while waiting =D

nothin much really happened today.. it's friday.. and it's a great day.. hehe.. kasi weekend na! =Dwe had no more milk for cereals this morning so bumili na lang kami ng breakfast meal sa burger king near our office(around 930am).. the burger was so big and filling that we skipped lunch.. work work work.. im almost done with my application.. a few more testings here and there.. and.. dyaaraaan! my first fully funtional .net application that i developed myself =D *takes a bow* hahaha!we left around 730pm.. which IS early.. off to Giant na kami.. that's like their SM supermarket dito.. well one of them.. bought a few stuffs for the weekend.. actually puro food.. =D while we were going through the aisle of frozen foods.. nagpatugtog ng song that has a melody like that of 'freak out!' (not really sure about the title, le freak yata..) basta yung groovy disco dance song of the yesteryears.. that reminds me of beng =D .. hmmm.. hirap describe ah.. basta yung sayaw ng mga taong afro(?) ang buhok and nakabootleg pa na pants (sowee.. that's how i imagine it e).. well hopefully you guys know it na.. hahaha! hirap e.. i just wanted to share that we had fun in the grocery.. haha! kasi we danced together.. me and my pangga.. right there in the grocery.. with the usual dance step of pointing your finger to the left and right (obliquely.. hehe).. we were even facing each other.. and going towards each other.. parang choreographed talga.. =ptwas so funny coz for a moment we forgot that there were people around.. =p it does happen di ba? that you couldnt care less.. especially when you're having fun and in the company of the ones you love.. *muah*

i really should be working now.. but im still on lunch mode.. =p and felt like browsing other blog sites..
..found out the anshe (and her hubby) already got a house.. pati si beng (and alfreydow aka je or ge.. tama ba beng?) and gewi (and her pangs) is searching for theirs.. well, dapat meron na sila pero nagkaroon ng konting problem.. and they're back to square one.. at least they've started looking na.. i wont be surprised if they find it in a couple more weeks or so.. =)makes me wonder.. kami kaya ng pangga ko? =S
it's hard to plan for big things like this.. especially when the question of where to settle down is still up in the air..
someday.. *sigh* i know someday we'll find our own perfect little home.. with its perfect garden (and kitchen!).. well.. perfect for us at least.. =D
busy busy week
it's been a busy busy week.. im beating a deadline.. it's still.. let's see.. two weeks.. but there's still a lot a to do and polish in the application im developing.. plus we have to come up with a presentation for our department offsite meeting.. it's one of 'the meetings' where the newbies are initiated.. the big boss was the one who personally emailed us our team and what we're allowed to do.. rather expected to do.. pwede daw kami kumanta, sumayaw, magskit (na may song and dance number..).. basta talent showdown.. and dapat related sa department namin yung presentation.. =S hirap kaya nun! coming up with the performance is already hard.. tapos dapat irelate pa sa work.. haay.. o well..we had our second meeting kanina.. and so far natoka kami ni Je na magconceptualize ng lahat! =S ngork! we already came up with an outline.. pinagusapan na namin ni prior to the meeting.. hoping for additional inputs during the actual meeting.. ehe.. during the meeting.. we were trying to push them to fill up the outline.. pero ganon.. kelangan pa ng tulak.. hahaha! malakasan nga =p *peace*Je and I will have our next checkpoint on friday.. wish us luck!
finally, a line
we left the house around 2pm yesterday.. with two targets in mind.. a line and shoes! =D nagmamakaawa na kasi yung shoes namin ngayon e.. forgot to buy new ones before we got here..we went to orchard by train.. dun namin hahanapin yung place ng singtel and m1.. we found singtel first.. so went to the information center to inquire about their corporate offers.. got a number (5124) and waited our turn..good thing that we had a nice local for our customer service person.. she even suggested several options for us to be able to save money daw.. nice huh? =) we eventually got the classic.. $14 a month.. not bad =) most of the people we know here are paying $30 for the same type of plan..ill email you guys our new number =)after finally getting our long overdued cell lines, we went to lucky plaza to have merienda.. merienda talga.. pinoy style.. i think.. lucky plaza is the only mall (that i know of.. haha) that has filipino restos.. we ate bibingka, turon and palabok.. yummy! gusto ko pa ngang kumain nung ibang ulam.. kaya lang we'll have dinner with oneal's sister and with oneal's batchmates at 7pm.. so dapat light lang.. maybe next week then! =Dafter having snacks.. we went straight to suntec to look for shoes.. pero pareho na kaming pagod.. i guess our late night(s) stress caught up with us.. so we just sat by the fountain and waited for dinner.. hehe.. next week na lang kami bili ng shoes..we ate at marche.. i dont know how to describe it.. sabi nila pangga parang yung sa streetlife daw.. you're given a paper where all your charges will be stamped.. then you'll pay it before you leave.. lot's of choices.. and they cook it as you order..we got home around 1130pm.. *bow*ciao for now! got to do the laundry!

it's friday! actually saturday na pla.. sept 10.. hmmm.. it's edrie's birthday! *sings* haaapppy birthdaaay tooo youuuuuuu *bow*=) back to my story.. hehe.. we got home an hour ago.. we had to work late as usual.. we worked until 9pm until we were forced to go home by my pangga's team lead (nahihiya yata sa kin.. kasi napansin nya na pag OT si pangga, OT din ako syempre).. she said it was devilish to keep him in the office on a friday =) good thinking! with that, we still had time to eat a decent dinner.. hahaha! KFC! kasi we still need to catch the bus going home.. so dapat mabilis lang ang kain.. =pwhen we got at suntec.. i noticed that the fountain laser show was over..
(i havent really seen the full laser show.. i just get a glimpse of it whenever we ride the bus going home.. it's a double decker.. so dami kong nakikita talga..hehe.. kasi lagi kaming sa taas nakapwesto..) they shut down the flow of water so that people could get to the middle part of the fountain.. here's a bird's eye view of the fountain.. (in my past blog, i mentioned that this is biggest fountain in the world.. trivia lang ulit.. hehe..)syempre, being the kid that i am.. haha! inaya ko pangga ko to check it out.. when we got in the center of the ring.. there was a note that says 'touch the water, make a silent wish, go around 3 times'.. according to feng shui, touching the water of the fountain of wealth will result in the mental and the physical benefits of revitalization.. dont know if it's true.. but it wouldnt hurt to believe =D

we watched perfect catch last night =) twas a treat from our big boss.. i bet you guys had already seen it.. kasi mejo late ang movies dito.. the movie herbie went out just this week.. and we've already seen it last july.. with netnet and allan.. more than a month delayed here..
the movie was fun! the kind that could really be considered as a break from work.. =) according to my pangga.. it was a production of the same people who produced 'there's something about mary'.. kewl huh?
there were 18 of us from the company.. and as expected, the loudest laughter could be heard from the 2 rows at the back which we occupied. =D the rest of the our department would be scheduled to watch a different movie upon their availability..
twas great to be there.. just sitting, relaxing, watching, enjoying the movie.. a moment that you can just forget about work.. even forget that you're in another country.. parang nasa greenbelt lang kami.. *sigh*

i've really nothin' much to share about my sunday.. mostly chores.. and i ate roti prata again.. haha! perhaps that was what ria's pertaining to in her blog.. flat bread (im pretty sure it's not called bread.. o well) with curry for your dip.. =D just thought of greetin' you guys a good morning before i bury myself in work.. hehe.. =)later!

last night we went at the suntec exhibition centre to check out the annual COMEX fair.. it's the biggest tech fair i've seen so far.. =) laptops, desktops, phones, entertainment systems, mp3 players, digi cams etc..
and of course.. we went there with a goal.. our very own laptop! =D woohoo!
for last night we were just checking out our options.. kewl stuffs! and at really reasonable prices *wide grin*
when we got home, we reviewed the flyers that we got.. syempre it's a major purchase so dapat good buy.. di ba mahal? =) comparing processors, other specs, pros and cons, reviews from other users (with the help of www.cdnet.com) and the price.. =p
we woke up early this morning to get there around lunch time.. hehehe.. *excited*
when we got there.. lam na namin where to go.. HP! ze2000 series (background: well, my pangga really wanted a laptop with an AMD processor.. but we couldnt find one with the latest model.. HP offers the best price with the specs that comes with the laptop) it comes with a free 3 in one printer, scanner and copier.. and a free cable modem (with 2 months free subscription at starhubs).. and an optical mouse.. and lastly, the bag =D woohoo!
syempre, since everything was being offered at a low price.. got to buy an mp3 player! tagal ko ng gustong bumili nun e.. *tears* hahaha!
kasya sya sa kamay ko.. so ganon lang cya kalaki.. hahaha! here's the pix.. it's an mp3 player with FM and direct recording (i can do a voice recording or record the station im currently listening to or directly recording from a CD.. reap to mp3!).. not bad di ba? good buy din for its price =D

when we first got here.. we wanted to go around.. the nice 'tourist' spots were quite far from where we are.. next option.. the malls! hehe.. =pupon entering the mall.. what's that foul smell? *throw up* huwaaat?! durian? be it outside or inside the mall, there's durian! i dont know.. i just dont like it.. the smell makes me wanna throw up.. even the candies made from durian.. me no likey.. =D they say it tastes good.. perhaps for some people.. but definitely not for me.. even some of the people here.. shhhh.. smells like durian na din! waaaaah! 
lam nyo ba.. in the mrt, you'll see signs, pictures.. that says 'no food allowed'.. there's a separate sign.. hehe.. gues what.. 'no durians allowed'.. =Dit's like it's their national fruit or something.. they put very high regard on the fruit.. i've read that it tastes like baked custard.. with a texture of an avocado..(magugustuhan yata ni allan to netnet.. mwehehe..) while the smell is in-describable, it's delicious.. *daw* =p one guy even commented that it's like eating custard in a sewer.. hahaha! 
hmmm.. *type type type* after a few seconds with my all time friend mr. google.. hehe.. well, didnt find anything that would confirm that it is indeed SGs national fruit.. o well.. here's it's nutritional facts..may funny experience pa nga ko.. one weekday, we went to the grocery after lunch.. i saw the gelato stand.. yummy.. ice cream!!! mmmmmm.. i think the lady on the counter was eager to make some sales so she gave us samples through these colorful little spoons.. syempre kuha naman ako.. =D smile sya sa kin sabay sabi.. that one's durian flavor *yuck* no need to say it.. i can tell po.. huhuhu.. hehehe.. i bought pa din naman.. pero yung mango flavor =) got to buy some pa din.. =D
here's more proof that people here are into the fruit.. we had attended a 'training' two weeks ago at the Raffle's Convention Center.. i saw a logo or emblem.. basta it was on the center, high, near the ceiling, by the lobby where everyone can see it.. twas durian..they also have a durian building.. if im not mistaken.. it's called, the Esplanade.. which by the way, we see everyday on our way to the office.. check this out.. weird by kewl! =D
