YOU'RE MY YOU
Nyoy Volante with Mannos
Every Romeo has a Juliet
Wishful thinkers have their stars
Hopeless romantics each have a love song
Played on their guitars
REFRAIN
But you, you're everything
This foolish heart could ever define
Every wish, every dream, every prayer come true
I feel so blessed to call you mine
CHORUS
You're my you, even more
No one else I'll adore
You're my you, in my mind
Simply one of a kind
You're the one who never fails to brighten my day
My princess in every fairytale
You're my mornin' 'til night
Such a beautiful sight
You're my you
Your eyes, your lips
The touch of your fingertips
Promise me you'll never take them away
For as long as I exist
[Repeat REFRAIN]
[Repeat CHORUS]
CHORUS
You're my you, even more
No one else I'll adore
You're my you, in my mind
Simply one of a kind
You're the one who never fails to brighten my day
My princess in every fairytale
You're my mornin' 'til night
Such a beautiful sight
You're the heat of the fire in a cold winter's night
You're a raindrop in June, you're the sun
You're the one, you're my you
Listen to the song
sonnet 116
Sonnet 116
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
admit impediments. Love is not love
which alters when it alteration finds,
or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! It is an ever-fixed mark
that looks on tempests and is never shaken;
it is the star to every wandering bark,
whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
within his bending sickle's compass come:
love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
but bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
-- William Shakespeare
i recall back in high school, we discussed one of shakespeare's sonnet.. 116.. according to our teacher (we dont call them professor yet during those days..), Mrs. Collantes, if im not mistaken.. or maybe i am.. hahaha! this sonnet is the best definition of love aside from the one in the bible of course.. =)the sonnet tells us what love is and what it is not.. it talks about the 'marriage of true minds' - something that goes beyond the physical companionship, a metaphor that refers to the spritual union of two persons, 'soulmates' as some may call them.. the poem speaks of love as unchanging.. does not 'admit impediment'.. does not change when either one of the loved one has changed.. shakespeare says that love is like a guide to lost souls, ('wandering barks') that is not susceptible to storms, ('never shaken') and to time, ('not time's fool')this sonnet may present an extreme ideal of romantic love which never changes, never fades and even outlasts death.. ideal as it may seem, it is nice to know that someone has thought of it.. and that maybe just maybe at one time, somewhere, it did exist and maybe still exists..
