picnic @ the beach

we spent saturday morning doing a most needed shopping at the mall.. needed.. hmmm.. to lessen the guilt maybe of spending some $xxx =p

we hurried home after our shopping spree as we have to get ready for our picnic that afternoon..

the reason we decided to go there in the first place was the free jazz concert at 6pm.. so we laid our mat near the stage around 5pm and waited.. it was almost 730 when they started.. *sigh* and the girl who was singing sounded like jaya =S sorry.. im not a jaya fan.. =p

none of us were really dressed for the beach.. only michelle's boyfriend.. so he went for a swim.. the rest of us just ate and chat.. a couple of minutes in the chat, je saw a basketball court two blocks from where we were.. she wanted to shoot some hoops and so did my pangga and michelle.. =) x joined in as well.. so we moved our mat close to the court and totally forgot the about the band.. hahaha!

they played two on two.. then two strangers introduced themselves to them and now it's three on three.. it was fun watching them.. im no basketball player.. so i just stayed on the side and took some pictures and videos.. =D the two guys were huge and the gurls would often shriek in fear of being trampled on.. hahaha! =p

we took some 'pang-friendster' pictures.. nobody was watching us.. sooo it was ok to goof off a bit.. =p ill post them when i get a copy.. =D

sunday was all chores.. =)

why restrict the overseas filipino professional?

here's an article (news) that i've read while taking a break from work.. it's about the harsh reality of the brain drain phenomenon in our country and what's currently being done..

in one article, a guy from UP stated this "Sadly, there is no longer brain drain, but more appropriately, brain hemorrhage. Very soon RP will bled dry."

given that this is the current scenario, still, the idea of imposing stricter regulations for the outflow of skills should be made clearer.. i agree with the writer when he said that it's simply a nice way of saying that the government would catch people at the airport and prevent them from leaving the country.. =S

people wont leave if there's a reason to stay.. then give them a reason to stay.. but not in a way of imprisoning them in their own country..

red hot radio power 98

i recently found out that there's a local station here that plays.. how do i call it.. hmmm.. english songs?

eversince, i had this weird idea that all they play are chinese/indian/malay songs.. =p

i was even surprised to hear that listeners were requesting for the songs by rivermaya.. kewl huh? well for me, at least.. hehehe.. "you'll be safe here" is currently playing.. it makes me wanna say "hey! those guys are filipinos!" =D

3 laps

i was dead tired last night.. =S for the first time i was able to complete a full 3 laps.. non-stop! *hingal hingal* im so proud of myself.. mwahahaha! =p

what was funny though is that i havent successfully completed a 2 laps drill yet.. i guess i was just into the challenge last night.. hehehe.. =D just wanted to share =p

the downside of this is.. i can no longer bargain with our instructor regarding the number of laps that i should be doing during our classes.. bummer!

random thoughts

AI - my pangga has all of the songs that elliot yamin sang so far in the competition.. and we listen to it everyday.. when i say everyday.. i do mean EVERYDAY! =p he has it on loop in his ipod.. the guy CAN sing! what can i say! =) he does look a bit funny though.. i refer to him as the lepricon.. teehee! i sure hope the stylists in AI can do something about it..

grocery - i love going to the grocery with my pangga.. picking stuffs that we need for the week.. ingredients we need to cook our baon (we take turns in cooking to make things a lot easier.. hehehe.. and fair =p).. getting free goodies at times.. a few weeks ago, we got 50 eggs (i had to bake different breads and cakes to use it all up).. yesterday, we got a harry potter quidditch game.. havent opened it yet.. it's marked as a game for kids 7 and above.. im not pretty sure if we still fit that criteria.. but what the heck! =p

weddings - i know of two couples who are getting married next month (anshe & jeff, cookie & pads).. ours is in 4 months.. ive been stressing myself over our wedding to do list and how im not getting anything done.. =S if they can do it, so can we.. we just have to be mindful of the schedule and really stick to it.. and before we know it, it'll be all over.. =p

souvenirs - my brother is scouting for other possible souvenir items.. our first choice really was the fortune plant.. the dilemma was, would my family be able to prepare them in time for the wedding? it's a living thing.. it's not something that they could just wrap up months ahead.. =( he sent me an SMS this afternoon saying that he would be meeting up with marge remai.. the supplier where gewi got their wooden coasters.. not sure if my brother would like the coasters too, but i said it's his call.. as long as it fits the garden theme and he doesnt get anything ceramic, im cool with it..

ceremony - i sent the draft of our wedding ceremony to my younger brother.. i told him to have daddy and mommy show it to the pastor who would be officiating our wedding together with my uncle (who's also a pastor).. i read a couple of christian wedding ceremonies and put together a new one for us.. im hoping to get the feedback by next week..

programme - i didnt know that putting up the reception programme could be a lot of work.. i started it yesterday and im still not done.. =( the sequence, the songs, the names.. *sigh* i would have to consider the right songs for the right parts of the programme.. do we have to play games? the bouquet and garter toss? the releasing of the doves.. yeah the doves, i forgot all about this.. some people opt to release the doves at the church, right before they ride the limo.. but since we are getting married in a garden.. can we still do that? wouldnt it be awkward? i mean we need like a short intro for that since it's kinda off.. hmmmm.. o well, hopefully, id be able to share the reception programme by next week..

vacation - yup! vacation! my parents and younger brother are coming here on the 19th of april and will be staying for 5 days.. ive their itenerary all planned out.. hehehe.. from breakfast to the main activities even to the snacks.. pretty excited, huh.. =p

eyebags - i havent been getting the right amount of Zs for the past weeks.. too much thinking i guess.. now ive these dark rings around my eyes.. so dark that i could pass for a panda.. =(

eating - usually when im stressed out i can hardly eat.. but this time it's different.. ive been eating a lot.. whatever's in my drawer in the office.. in the shelves at home.. geez! id be gaining weight in no time! and that's a big NO-NO especially with the wedding coming up.. so next saturday, we're going on an 11KM hike.. wanna join? =D
