the search is on..
i've been looking for a church and reception venue for almost a month now.. grabe! hirap pla.. geri, who's also getting married next year has been very helpful.. she's been sending me files and list of sites.. recently she told me to subscribe to the yahoo group of weddings at work.. i did just this morning.. still waiting for approval though.. so i cant read the messages yet..
we've got a pretty tight budget since both of us had been.. how can i say this.. hmmm.. 'employment challenged'.. hahaha.. is that even a right? fine! unemployed.. hahaha! but that's only for a couple of months.. =p and for a good reason too.. =p
we started scouting for the church and venue last june 4, i think.. first stop, Intramuros! well, people have been suggesting it and i've heard and seen (in various websites.. ehe..) a lot of people getting married there.. there's a lot of garden venues.. but we're looking for an indoor venue since we're planning to get married around july or august.. these are the only months when my cousins in jersey get a break from school..
for now, we've got our eyes on Manila Cathedral and Villa Immaculada for the reception.. Tamayo's is their caterer.. not yet sure if they will allow a different caterer.. we haven't asked the details since we're still looking for other options.. =)
the following saturday, we went to check out places along roxas blvd.. the shrine of jesus looks like a nice church.. lots of parking space.. even if the church is not air conditioned, it's well lit and ventilated.. below the church is a function room good for 200-400 people.. when we went there, there was a wedding going on.. i thought, great! i was able to see the function room with the table set up and all.. the air conditioning system was not so good.. ang init! but it could be that they just turned it on.. i dont really know.. =p
next, we went to coconut palace, i wasnt able to go in because apparently they dont work on saturdays.. but that sucks though.. they should be open on the weekends.. (hehe.. demanding!) when else could i see the place.. =( but then the guard told me that what they have is a garden venue.. the indoor room is kinda small for 200 people.. o well, at least we tried..
the search is still on.. any ideas or suggestions would be a great help!

check out mo Barbara's sa Intramuros.. indoor ata yun.. yung Albergus din may mga indoor venues.. sunset lounge (chet, di ko maspell lol) sa Export Bank building... yung dating Urban Bank (Pasong tamo cor Buendia) meh venue sila dun..
