let the song play

i was in the mood to make pan de sal this morning.. and what better way to bake than to listen to familiar songs that you can sing to while mixing and kneading.. =D

ive a playlist of opms.. from martin & regine duet to side A to nyoy to nina to mymp.. a couple of ryan cayabyab and ariel rivera.. mwahahaha! a good way of showing how young i am (still!) =p

it's a funny how music can touch you and let your subconcious fly to the time that particular song was made popular or first heard..

sometimes it even details out what you where doing at that point in your past.. your mind plays the scenes over and over and sometimes creates the next page of what-ifs..

the feelings can be a gamut of emotions.. from the excitement of your first day in school.. to having your first crush.. courtship years.. meeting that group of people that makes you feel you belong.. your singing and dancing days.. losing someone dear to you.. your travels, be it simply in the mall, in one's house or to a totally different country.. your coffee breaks with friends.. meeting that special someone.. and so on and so forth..

i can go on and on.. cause a different song pulls a different thread in your memory and raises a different set of feelings..

when the song ends.. reality kicks in and your brought back to the exact moment before you drifted away in your thoughts..

but that's ok.. you can always go back and reminisce.. it's like having the reruns of the episodes in your life in hand.. and you'll be able to watch and live them all over again.. by just letting the song play..

maybe because even if the song brings back a certain happy memory.. when it ends.. what you saw (or felt).. is still just a glimpse of what was.. *hugs*
