welcome back to the jungle!

it's funny how i've lost my sense of security right after our plane landed at NAIA. you'd think that being back home would bring relief. dont get me wrong though. im happy to be back, to see my family, relatives, friends and to continue our wedding preps. it's just that coming home also means..
- being extra careful about your stuffs when you're with people you dont know,
- having to listen and watch our politicians' endless efforts to oust the president,
- having to deal with unruly, maniac drivers who seem to have to impression that the roads were built specially for them,
- people shouting, figthing and hitting each other with whatever's at arm's reach right in front of you AND doing it in a shopping place,
- neighbors who dont give a d*mn about others and still keep singing on the videoke machine all night,

well, i could go on and on about things that makes me dislike the country more.. can you blame me though?

to make things worse, our car was towed last weekend while we were attending a wedding.. for what reason.. for reasons that only they know.. there wasnt even a no parking sign, nor did the people in the nearby carinderia told us that we werent suppose to park there.. and check this out.. when we went looking for our car, there was already a pedicab waiting to bring us to the pound.. coincidence?!?! after ripping us of P50 for what short distance he drove, we paid P1500 just to get it over with.. i was fuming mad but had to control myself as we were in an unknown teritory.. grrr.. and besides we wanted to catch up with our friends who were on their way to the reception..

in the car, my pangga and i kept on saying 'welcome back to the jungle!'.. i think we got it from one of the opm songs..

it's sad to see the country in such a state (not that i havent seen it before) especially when you've been in another country that is much much smaller than your own but was able to progress from a third world country to first..

i know that people have been crying for change for ages.. ever since i was born.. but will there ever be? i hope so..
