gong xi fa cai!

one of my officemates said the chinese new year is one of the most important holiday for the chinese.. it's actually a 15 day celebration for them.. so back in china, they have 2 weeks of continuous rest..
our big boss gave a small bag that contains two oranges to each of us.. i think its like wishing the person, to whom the oranges were given, abundant happiness..
we've placed red decors all over the office with chinese characters in them.. not that i would know.. hahaha.. i cant read them.. i just assumed since it IS chinese new year..
they've also given us red packets.. no money with it of course.. sayang! =p we could use them to give money to the kids.. if we were observing the holiday.. these red packets are given by the older people to the youngsters with luck money (ang paus).. =)
lions and dragons can also been seen all around.. preparing for the dances they would be doing on the new year.. =D
i may not be chinese.. but i could still wish everyone a prosperous new year.. as one site published "May the Star of Happiness, the Star of Wealth and the Star of Longevity shine on you" *HUGS*
