the covenant and ice age 2
the covenant.. is about four young men (according to my officemate, yummy guys.. hehe..) who are descendants of witches with great seductive powers that can consume a person.. the power is so addictive and destructive that causes the physical body of the owner to degrade with every use..ok where do i start.. since this movie was done by the creators of underworld the effects and action scenes are pretty much as expected.. good but nothing new.. the movie doesnt move much in any direction.. no building up of characters or plot even..
the movie starts off with the history of witch families.. makes you think that you're in for something quite eerie and scary.. however, a few scenes later, you find out that the movie wanders without much aim at all.. it could have passed for a tv series maybe but not a full length movie..
ice age 2.. nothing much is to be said about this movie.. i've been bugging people to give me a copy of the movie since i missed it on the big screen.. i finally got a copy last friday.. i guess the anticipation got me expecting much..
half way through the movie.. i found myself saying that it was kinda dragging.. and i havent laughed yet.. =S and my pangga, knowing that i can laugh at the most shallow cartoon joke, knew that the movie was nothing grand.. the nut crazy squirrel appeared a lot of times like an ice breaker to a show.. but that was it.. i thought maybe there's a twist somewhere because they're the last two mammoths on earth.. but right after the meltdown there came this herd of mammoth out of nowhere.. =S building up the love story and continuity of species for nothing =S (hehehe.. that's just the disappointed kid in me talking.. =p)
