vesak day
friday was a holiday.my friend's mom who was visiting asked me why it was a holiday.. and then i realized i uhmmm.. dont know.. hahaha! i guess, having an extra rest day was good enough for me.. didnt even bother to ask what the holiday was about.. ="> *blush*
so here's a bit of info for you guys and for myself as well.. heehee..
vesak or buddha day, is an opportunity for buddhist to reflect on the life and teachings of buddha.. it highlights the potential for inner peace and happiness in all of us..
i saw bits of videos on tv showing how they celebrate vesak day.. some people bathe the statue of buddha as an expression of allegiance to him.. the monks and other devotees where giving aways gifts to the poor.. and a candlelit procession concluded the celebration..
i know the celebration is much more that what i just wrote.. but at least now i have a better understanding of what it is.. =)

*LOL* ako rin, basta walang pasok, ok na ko. we're looking forward to Memorial Day on May 29, wala daw pasok. but if you will ask me, i don't know who (or what) is being commemorated on Memorial Day. =P kebs!

Umm, mga patay yata. Alam ko may veteran's day, so hindi mga veterans specifically. I think lahat ng namatay minememorya. Kaya memorial day. WAHAHA. ang kulit ko! :-P
